About this Blog

Welcome to 72 Airman’s Writings

I am a USAF captain and the writer for this collection of blog posts.

This disclaimer serves as notice that the contents found in this blog series are my own opinions and not those of the United States Air Force. Furthermore, unless explicitly referenced and sufficiently attributed to some entity who has publicly made a quoted statement, all content in this post should be interpreted as my interpretation of my observations or readings.

My mission with this 72 AW project is to provide entertainment and prompts to reflect while practicing my writing skills with particular focus on consistent effort.

My vision with 72 AW is to be a valued source of insight, support, inspiration, and perspective for growing leaders.

What I intend to share in these monthly posts over 6 years are hopefully amusing anecdotes, serious stories, lessons learned, and miscellaneous messages.

I also hope for some interaction from readers.

You should read this if you are a military member, regardless of rank.

You should read this if you are a member of any community involving other people.

You should read this if you like the way these posts are written (by format and/or the writing itself).

Regardless of readership, I intend to write for my own practice, reflection, and amusement.

The sort of content I immediately foresee myself including in these posts are as follows:

  • Military Highlights, such as policy changes, general hot topics, and neat events.
  • Insights from my own professional activities.
  • Prompts from readers.
  • Book reviews!
  • Civil discourse and my perspective.

I do not intend to get too personal in these posts.

Who am I? Who do I want to be?

I am a Captain in the United States Air Force.

I am an Acquisitions officer.

I am an electrical engineering (BS EE) graduate from Georgia Southern University.

I am a business administration (MBA) graduate from Oklahoma Central University.

In the mid-term, I would like to retire as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force.

I would most like to be an instructor in my final active duty Air Force role,  but I am flexible with my career vector.

I would like to be a writer: novels, articles, blogs.

Engage

At this time, direct methods of engagement seem most likely — direct messages or email.

What I would most like is feedback, responses, and questions.

If you liked what you read, it helps me to know that.

If you felt compelled to act somehow because of something you read, that would be amazing feedback.

If you feel something is confusing or simply want to learn more about my perspective, I am happy to have that conversation.

Conclusion

This concludes the introductory post for 72 ABW.

As of yet, I do not have any questions for would-be readers. This was merely an informative post about the blog in general and is more for my sake than any reader’s.

I look forward to any post-post discussions that might be had after upcoming posts.
